Whether buying or selling a home, the process should be rewarding and exciting. To me, the business of selling houses really isn’t selling at all. As an agent, I am not selling, but simply helping and guiding a client throughout the process, every step of the way. A buyer’s role in “the sell” is to visualize their family, furniture and decorating style in the house, maybe new paint colors, a garden or swing set in the backyard…and I provide assistance to ensure the buyer is afforded every opportunity available. A seller’s role is to prepare their home at its best to catch the attention of the buyer…and I provide suggestions to make their residence the most attractive to potential buyers while protecting the seller’s equity in the home.
Having been in sales for over 20 years, covering traditional retail sales, marketing a non-profit organization and pharmaceutical sales for a Fortune 500 company, I learned the techniques of selling. My real estate career is really the first time that I don’t have to “sell” in the traditional way--I assist and help.
